What is Digital Marketing?

The term “digital marketing” concerns the advertising of products by digital manner. To put it in another way, this phrase loosely means to display your product using advertising. The technologies used for the marketing could be anything from the field of the digital channels that include search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), content marketing, email, social media advertising, mobile applications, and websites. But the key points we are about to focus on are the most common types of digital marketing.

Paid Search

On the search engine results page (SERP), the sponsored result is sponsored due to pay-per-click (PPC), or paid search. PPC means exactly what the full expression indicates: you pay every time your advertisement is clicked. You can customize the PPC ad to show up when certain items are searched so the particular audience that you want to attract can see your product and most likely be more interested in your content. If someone was viewing or searching up a keyword that relates to your product, your advertisement would make an appearance which would appeal to the audience.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

SEO, or search engine optimization is the process of affecting the online visibility of a product/ website. It’s used to the advantage of putting your website on the top of the results page. Similar to the pay-per-click, the connected keyword searched up would lead to your product as the first result. Search engine optimization provides a chance for potential clients/ customers to view your business. But the difference between SEO and PPC is that SEO is organic, which means that it’s free, and paid search is when your product is paid to be shown at the top. On the search results page, 67% of the clicks are the first 5 listings on the page. This means you would have a higher chance of getting more potential customers if your product was one of the first few results. You would have the option of either having your product “discovered” without cost (SEO) or pay for your product to be shown to the potential client (PPC).

Content Marketing

Engaging content on your product would help you achieve successful marketing. Strong content is essential for growing businesses because it attracts an audience. It’s necessary to convey that your brand is resourceful and trustworthy. If you have great content, potential clients would have more of a reason to explore your product further. Quality content leads for people to see your product as a valuable source of information. There are three main benefits to having good content: it gets more people aware of your brand, creates a brand preference, and expands the brand’s field of customers and buyers at a lower cost.

Social Media Marketing

With the increasing rate of social media use, it’s a great way of marketing your brand. Some uses of social networks is to research, discover, and educate themselves. Social media platforms allow potential clients to learn about your organization. If your social media profile is interesting and engaging, buyers are most likely going to give attention to your product. Marketing on social media networks is effective because it gets news out quickly. According to the Pew Research Center, more than 80% of American adults use social media. They had also said that about three-quarters are Facebook users and one-half are Instagram users. They check the social media network at least once per day, according to Pew. This indicates that potential buyers are most likely on social media and that it’s a good way to market your product.

Email Marketing

One of the quickest and the most direct way to reach a customer with crucial information is email marketing. Similar to social media marketing, the content you share must be engaging, relevant, informative, and entertaining. An interesting email would attract more buyers than a uneventful message that would make client’s interest disappear. Marketing using email can be successful if customers find it intriguing.
